Two Day Tactical Carbine
This course is for the experienced carbine shooter who desires to learn a variety of tactical applications. The course will consist of approximately 1 hour of classroom instruction on firearm safety, firearm operation, and the cognitive aspects of marksmanship. The remaining 15 hours will consist of a variety of progressively challenging drills and events. Upon completion of the course the student will have a thorough understanding of firearms safety and marksmanship fundamentals and how to tactically maneuver and engage multiple targets from a variety of firing positions with the semi-automatic carbine.
Course Objective: The student will demonstrate a high level of tactical proficiency and accuracy with the semi-automatic AR-15 type carbine
Enabling Objectives:
Ammo requirements (Student Furnished): 1000 rounds of rifle ammunition per person.
Prerequisite (one of the following):
Training schedule: Show time is 7:45 am, each day, with instruction starting at 8:00 am and ending at 5 pm. A one hour period is allotted for lunch.
Individual equipment (Student Furnished):
Course includes: 16 hours of instruction and a certificate of completion.
* We recommend you wear comfortable shoes, long pants, and a long sleeve shirt that you don’t mind getting dirty

Enabling Objectives:
- General firearms safety
- Verify safe, loading, and unloading procedure
- Operation and manipulation of the AR-15 type rifle/carbine
- Sights, zeroing considerations and techniques, external ballistics, slings, and equipment placement
- Fundamentals of rifle marksmanship
- Reloading and malfunctions drills
- Tactical use of the prone, kneeling, and standing positions/use of cover & barricades
- Multiple target engagements
- The set-up and shooting on the move
- Training mindset and methodology

- Successful completion of TRC Introductory Pistol or Carbine Course
- Active Law Enforcement or Military
- USPSA “C” Classification or higher
- IDPA Sharpshooter Classification or higher

- Belt, LBE or protective vest with associated magazine pouches
- Knee and elbow pads (optional)
- Weapon cleaning kit (with oil for carbine)
- Rain or inclement weather gear
- Eye and ear protection (clear and shaded lens are recommended)
- Water/Snacks (1 hr lunch break)
- Hat/Gloves (rifles will get hot)
- Sun screen (non-greasy or water resistant recommended)
- Optical sight for carbine (optional, but highly recommended)
