Armed Self-Defense Tactics - March 14-15, 2020
This two day Armed Self-Defense course is taught by Jason Kelly, a multi-faceted Defensive Combatives Instructor with 25 years of training and 14 years of experience training and supporting law enforcement agencies, elite military units, and world class athletes including champion UFC fighters, and TRC Training Director John Sherbert.
The course teaches combative skills in a weapons based environment (introduction of gun or knife), and introduces students of any ability and experience high level, yet basic and easy to learn concepts, principles, theory and techniques. The course starts from ground zero, building the students in a step by step process; then as new or enhanced skills are developed students are put in realistic scenarios to test application of new material in dynamic environments. These environments are based on common scenarios that catch people off guard in violent situations -- attempted armed robbery while walking from a store, Tinder date goes terribly wrong, Uber driver is drunk or crazy, attempted kidnapping from sidewalk etc.
Day 2 will progress to force on force scenarios in the shoot house incorporating fighting and simmunitions in real world based environments that require shoot/no shoot decision making, weapon takeaways and defensive use of the concealed carry weapon (knife and pistol).
Fighting and shooting are rarely done at the same time in trainings, yet in reality they are happening at the same time. They say "life and death is in the gaps", this course fills those gaps. Participants should be in reasonably fit condition and capable of hand to hand grappling.
