North Carolina Concealed Carry Handgun

 The NC Concealed Carry Handgun Course is a required prerequisite prior to applying for a NC Concealed Carry Handgun permit. The course is designed to teach the laws governing the use of deadly physical force, the concealed carry statute and relevant issues related to carrying a concealed handgun in the state of North Carolina. This course further teaches the attendees correct weapon handling skills, the fundamentals of pistol marksmanship and how to safely draw the pistol from the holster. With a passing score  the attendee can apply for their North Carolina Concealed Handgun Permit. You will need to have  this certificate, a valid NC Driver's License and be at least 21 years old to apply in person or on line for the license to carry a concealed weapon in NC. You don't need to have a NC DL to take the course, only when you apply for the permit. 

Course Objectives: To fully meet the course requirement to apply for a North Carolina Concealed Carry Handgun permit.

Enabling Objectives:

• Knowledge and understanding of North Carolina laws governing carrying a concealed handgun.
• Knowledge and understanding of North Carolina laws governing the use of deadly force.
• Knowledge of the different types of handguns.
• Safe handling & storing of handguns.
• Safe loading and unloading handguns.
• Basics of handgun maintenance.
• Shooting range safety
• Fundamentals of handgun marksmanship.

Firearm, Ammo & Gear Requirements (Student Provided):

• Semi-automatic or Revolver (modern, well-functioning handgun, suitable for concealed carry)
• Holster & Belt (shoulder & cross-draw holsters not permitted)
• 50 Rounds of Ammo
• Eye & Ear Protection
