
Steve Swierkowski, President & CEO
President and CEO of The Range Complex-TRC, Steve is responsible for strategic and operational leadership, government contracting and business expansion. Prior to TRC, Steve served as Director of Business and Contracting at TigerSwan, Inc. from 2010-2011, and then Vice President for Training. In 2014, Steve stood up The Range Complex-TRC as an independent small business, while maintaining TigerSwan’s Brilliance in the Basics® training methodology and quality of instruction.
Steve is a retired U.S. Army Special Forces (SF) Officer, having served as a Special Forces Detachment and Company Commander, Executive Officer and Operational Planner, deploying to Cote d’Ivoire and Ghana, West Africa; Afghanistan; and Iraq. In 2005, as an SF Company Commander, Steve led his company to Mosul, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Following company command, Steve served as a Special Forces Battalion XO, then as an Operational Planner and Liaison Officer (LNO) in Qalat, Afghanistan for Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force – Afghanistan (CJSOTF-A). Steve was also assigned to 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta (SFOD-D), where he served as an Assistant Operations Officer for a Squadron in Iraq, and as the Chief of Current Operations for a 1,600 person Combined, Joint, Interagency Task Force (CJIATF) conducting combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. Steve’s final assignment on active duty was as the G3 Executive Officer and Range Branch Chief for the United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC).
Steve is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, and holds a Master’s Degree in Defense Analysis with a specialty track in Financial Management from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA. Steve also completed the North Carolina State Certified Financial Planner Education Program and is TRC’s Export Compliance Officer, receiving his U.S. Export Controls licensing certification from the Export Compliance Training Institute.

John Sherbert, Training Director/Range Manager
John is a retired U.S. Army Special Forces Master Sergeant with 20 years of Special Operations experience, and 4 years as a sworn NC Law Enforcement Officer serving as an assaulter and sniper with the Department’s Emergency Response Team. Among the Special Operations Units he served in: 1st Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment (C Co), 7th Special Forces Group (Team Sergeant ODA 7311), and at the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School (D-1-1 SWTG, Special Forces Urban Combat Course (SFAUCC) instructor, Unconventional Warfare Instructor)

- Direct Action Mission Planning to include Time Sensitive Target planning

Suzanne Mullen, M.A., Certified Mental Performance Consultant® (CMPC)

Suzanne began her career in broadcasting writing and producing television commercials, later transitioning to morning talk show host and Dallas, Texas weekday news anchor. From 1987- 2003 she was a field producer for ABC News, and began coaching political candidates, university presidents, and corporate executives in how to improve their media engagement and public speaking skills. In 2009 Suzanne became Communications Director for TigerSwan, Inc. and assisted in the development of the Strategic Communications Course. Now Program Manager for TRC's Embassy Integration & Applied Communication Strategies course, since 2014 she has served as a public speaking/briefing skills Instructor; managed TRC's social media presence and marketing; functioned as staff photographer documenting kinetic training; and assisted with business development.
Suzanne grew up in East and Central Africa, has a B.A. in English from UNC-Greensboro, and a M.A. in Performance Psychology from National University, San Diego CA. She is a member of the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) and a Certified Mental Performance Consultant®. Suzanne specializes in coaching students in TRC's Embassy Integration/STRATCOM and Tactical Firearms Instructor courses, to utilize Mental Skills Training (MST) and Performance Optimization tools to manage their thoughts, attention and emotions, strengthen their self-efficacy, and enhance their individual and unit performance under stress. "Certification as a Certified Mental Performance Consultant® (CMPC) demonstrates that an individual has met the highest standards of professional practice, including completing a combination of educational and work requirements, successfully passing a certification exam, agreeing to adhere to ethical principles and standards, and committing to ongoing professional development." Bruce O'Brien, Range Safety Officer
Bruce is a long-time member of The Range Complex staff, and serves as the Range Safety Officer for TRC's Sportsman's Range on the weekends. He is an NRA Certified Range Safety Officer, and a US Navy veteran, formerly on active duty during the Vietnam War.
