Five Day Active Shooter Response (Rapid Deployment)

This course is designed to train first responders to effectively respond to and stop an active shooter incident. Law Enforcement Professionals across the nation are acknowledging the need for a change in policy, protocol, speed of deployment, and tactics to save lives. This course includes a combination of classroom instruction, range fire and scenario based training using real world After Action Reports (AAR) as the resource for the force-on-force training.
Course Objective: Gain an understanding of the unique challenges faced by a first responder during an active shooter situation; utilize these lessons learned toward building site specific active shooter response procedures.
Enabling Objectives:
Ammo requirements (Student Furnished): 700 rounds of pistol ammunition per person.
Prerequisite: Law Enforcement, Military Law Enforcement, and Private Security Professionals Only.
Training schedule: Show time is 7:30 am with instruction starting at 8:00 am.

Course includes: 40 hours of instruction and a certificate of completion.
Cost: $995 tuition fee or $1,250 package price - includes all of the above and rental of pistol, magazine pouch, magazines, eye and ear protection and required ammunition

- Gain knowledge of lessons learned from historical active shooter events
- Gain an understanding of combat mindset and principles of an active threat
- Demonstrate the fundamentals of pistol Marksmanship
- Gain a thorough understanding of the terminology and work breakdown structure involved for a crisis situation
- Differentiate between active shooter vs. barricade/hostage situations
- Effectively engage targets while shooting on the move
- Conduct room clearing operations utilizing both team formations and individual movement; issue verbal commands to gain compliance
- Understand the role and procedures of special response units and crime scene investigators
- Gain an understanding of how Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) are employed
- Gain an understanding of incident scene command, control, and communication requirements
- Participate in a variety of active shooter scenarios utilizing dye marking cartridge firearms and role players

- Duty handgun with 5 magazines
- Duty belt and holster
- Soft body armor (ballistic or protective vest)
- Groin protection (vest attachment, athletic cup, or towel to be folded over beltline)
- Two to three long sleeve shirts
- Gloves (able to access trigger guard)
- Flashlight
- Knee and elbow pads (optional)
- Weapon cleaning kit (with oil for guns)
- Rain or inclement weather gear
- Wrap around eye protection (clear and shaded lens are recommended)
- Ear protection
- Water/Snacks (1 hr lunch break)
- Hat /Gloves
- Sun Screen (non-greasy or water resistant recommended)
Provided equipment:
- UTM® Pistol (customer preference of Glock, Sig Sauer, Beretta)
- UTM® safety gear
- 100 rounds of UTM Man Marker Rounds
- Holster and magazine carrier
