Level I Pistol
The Level 1 Pistol Course is designed to increase the skill level of the modestly experienced pistol shooter. The course will consist of approximately 1 hour of classroom instruction on firearm safety, firearm operation, and the cognitive aspects of marksmanship. Classroom instruction is followed by 7 hours of progressively challenging drills that involve a variety of shooting positions, distances, and situational nuance. These drills will primarily originate from the holstered position and are designed to improve both speed and accuracy. Upon completion of the course the student will have a thorough understanding of firearm safety, firearm operation, and the ability to engage multiple targets at distances up to 25 yards.
Course Objective: The student will gain a high level of confidence in the safe handling and operation of a semi-automatic pistol and show a marked improvement in accuracy, precision, and speed of target engagement.
Enabling Objectives
Ammo requirements ( Student Furnished): 500 ads of pistol ammunition per person.
Prerequisite: A moderate level of knowledge and proficiency with a semi-automatic pistol. If unsure, TRC strongly recommends attendance of our introductory Pistol Course.
Training Schedule: Show is 7:30 a.m. with instruction starting at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 5:00 p.m. A one hour period is allotted for lunch.
Individual equipment (Student Furnished):
Course includes: 8 hours of instruction and a certificate of completion
Cost: $225 tuition fee
