Precision Rifle
The Precision Rifle Course is designed to set the foundation of skills for the novice rifleman utilizing a scoped bolt action or semi-automatic rifle. The course will consist of approximately 2 hours of classroom instruction on firearm safety, rifle set up, zeroing, ballistics, and fundamentals as applied to the precision rifle. Classroom instruction is followed by 6 hours of live fire range drills beginning with zeroing and accuracy drills. These drills will be followed by introduction to alternate firing positions using supported and unsupported techniques. Upon completion these exercises students will gather data on known distance targets out to 600 yards. Culminating the course will be timed known distance engagements using techniques learned through the day.
Course Objective: The student will have confidence and understanding in the application of precision rifle fire from 0 to 600 yards.
Enabling Objectives:
Ammo requirements (Student Furnished): 150 rounds of match ammunition per person.
Prerequisite: A basic understanding of firearms safety and operation.
Training schedule: Show time is 8:00 am at Classroom 2, with instruction starting at 8:15 am and ending at 5:00 pm. A one hour period is allotted for lunch. (Recommend bringing food.)
Individual equipment (Student Furnished):
Course includes: 8 hours of instruction and a certificate of completion.
Cost: $195 tuition fee. Please contact TRC prior to course date with any specific gear or equipment related questions * We recommend you wear comfortable shoes, long pants, and a long sleeve shirt that you don’t mind getting dirty

- MIL vs. MOA understanding
- Basic ballistics understanding (Internal, External, Terminal)

- Shooting positions (Supported and Unsupported)
- Data collection 100 to 600 yards

- 200 rounds of match ammunition (Not Hunting Ammo)
- 2x serviceable magazines (if applicable)

- Weapon cleaning kit (appropriate for individual weapon)
- Support Bag (a.k.a. sand sock)
- Note taking material with extra pens
