TRC 2-Day Intro to Precision Rifle
This course is designed for students that are beginning their journey into precision rifle marksmanship. Whether your application is long-range competition or hunting, this is the course for you! Engaging targets at distance can be challenging as well as intimidating to the new shooter. The course will consist of instruction on firearm safety, individual rifle set up, zeroing, ballistics, and then deep dive into modern rifle marksmanship fundamentals as they apply to the precision rifle. Classroom session will be followed by live fire coaching beginning with zeroing and accuracy drills. These drills will be followed by introduction to positional shooting as well as tripod employment techniques. Upon completion of these sessions, students will gather data on known distance targets out to 600 yards. The course will culminate with timed known distance engagements using techniques learned throughout the 2-day course.
As with any sport, there are core foundational principles that when applied collectively and correctly, assist in the action being “Consistent and Repeatable”. Employing a precision rifle in practical applications is no different. Being a fundamentally sound shooter establishes a baseline of performance standards and acts as a checklist to guide you as you build your skills.
We’re all human, which means “WE” are the wildcard regarding consistency in performance. Having a firm understanding of the “WHY” behind each fundamental of marksmanship gives you the ability to self-diagnose shooting trends you see by allowing you to follow a process of elimination.
