Tactical Medical Training (Law Enforcement)
This course is designed to train law enforcement professionals how to deal with emergency medical situations that may occur on duty, while awaiting medical personnel. The course covers the basics of trauma management, treatment until EMS arrives, and what to do if EMS is delayed. We will discuss crisis mindset, tactical considerations, and some basic anatomy and physiology. Building on that foundation, students will learn how to assess and treat a patient, tactical aspects of medical treatment, a layered approach to medical equipment. The course culminates with multiple scenarios during which the student treats one or more simulated patients. Each scenario finishes with a peer and instructor critique. The scenarios build upon previous training to bring the LEO professional up to a level at which they are competent to perform basic medical treatments in most emergency situations.
